CBS has picked up just one midseason show for 2010-11 so far, but Criminal Minds season 1-4 DVD boxset may change in the next couple of weeks.
Nina Tassler, the president of CBS Entertainment, says that 12 of the 15 pilots it ordered tested well enough to go on Criminal Minds DVD set. Given that and the fact that the network currently has no new comedies in reserve and only one drama -- the "Criminal Minds DVD" spinoff starring Forest Whitaker -- more pickups could be on their way in the near future.
On the comedy side, "we have 'Mad Love' [starring Lizzy Caplan, Jason Biggs and Criminal Minds DVD boxset], 'Livin' on a Prayer' [from the 'How I Met Your Mother' team] -- there are still a lot of [Criminal Minds season 1-4 DVD boxset]," Tassler says. "I don't mean to imply anything by omission, but I think we had a very strong development season. Criminal Minds DVD set was we needed to have a lot of options."
For the record, the other comedy pilots CBS ordered this year were "Hitched," "Team Spitz," "Criminal Minds DVD" and an untitled project from "Bruno" co-writer Ant Hines and director Larry Charles.
Dramas that are reportedly still in play include a Criminal Minds DVD boxset executive produced by John Wells and "Chaos," about CIA agents. Tassler says she and her team will make other decisions on Criminal Minds season 1-4 DVD boxset when they return to Los Angeles following the upfronts.
CBS is adding four new dramas and two comedies to its slate next Criminal Minds DVD set, the network announced at its upfront presentation.
The dramas include a remake of classic cop drama Hawaii 5-0, starring Lost’s Daniel Dae Kim, and Criminal Minds DVD, starring Forest Whitaker and slated for a midseason debut, writes Entertainment Weekly.
Tom Selleck will play an NYPD chief of police in Blue Bloods, while Jim Belushi will Criminal Minds DVD boxset in a legal drama called Defenders.
The network’s comedies include Mike & Milly, about a Criminal Minds season 1-4 DVD boxset meet at Overeaters Anonymous, and $#*! My Dad Says, based on material from Justin Halpern’s Twitter account (via TV Squad) and starring William Shatner.
CBS has canceled Ghost Whisperer, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Gary Unmarried, Criminal Minds DVD set, Miami Medical, Accidentally on Purpose and Numb3rs.

CBS also said that it is moving its hit Big Bang Theory from Mondays to Thursdays at 8pm this fall, creating a Criminal Minds DVD block and competing directly with NBC for the night, reports The Criminal Minds DVD boxset. Survivor will shift from Thursdays to Wednesdays at 8pm.
